I just wish I could get any beer delivered to my door here in Wisconsin. We're professional alcoholics we should've been the first state to have beer by mail. But that's what happens when distributors and the Tavern League have all the power... also our state government is good at not doing much of anything.
I did it the other way around -- I was huge into detective fiction in high school and college, and loved Himes, understanding the POV about as well as a barely woke white kid would in the 80s and 90s, and getting a much different perspective now upon re-reading as a hopefully somewhat more understanding middle aged dude.

Thank you! I read a couple essays in college I think, but I just got smart enough to start on the fiction and it's mesmerizing.
